MOPPETS is ...
... a preschool-like programme for young children under 6 years old - separate from the mothers.
What does a child need? conversation, smiles, playdough, pretend play, painting, stories, music, morning tea, outside play.
Structured activities and free play in a safe environment and with caring helpers. Grandparents are invited to join in with the children.

What FRESH AIR ideas are people using with their MOPPETS?
· Make a daisy or colourful flower - with multicoloured 'petals' with a hole punched in the middle - and then 2-3 'threaded' onto the top of a bent drinking straw.
· How do we know the wind exists? make a paper 'windmill' that they can blow around. We know wind exists because we can see it moving the leaves in the trees and by what it does... We know about love in the same way.
We have made little rainbows with small white paper plates and 4 different strips of construction paper (red, yellow, green, blue). Have kids use the stick glue to apply the pieces of paper.
Write "God keeps His promises" on the plate and write their name on the back.
You can put a smiley face on the plate for that cute touch. The kids enjoyed it and I included a reading of Noah's Ark. I discussed rain and asked the children what items they wear outside.

2008
Three key elements of this theme to explore throughout the year:
Our homes are where we bond, cocoon, build inwardly. Our homes are where we refuel so that we can live fully in the world beyond. Our homes are a picture of Jesus' dwelling within us.
Topics such as understanding and making room for different personalities,
- dining in,
- home as a safe place to make mistakes,
- comparing your home with others’,
- feeling trapped at home,
- decorating and organizing, having company, and
- being involved in community.

Since there are butterflies as well as homes. Could use butterfly names for each group. Use a home with butterflies on wires flying above.
Our group uses colours for each group to identify the groups and so the MOPPETS can easily identify children to mums.
